Topic: In The Prison Of Life, Would You Still Be Effective
Philemon 1:10-12
10 "... I appeal to you for my son Onesimus, who became my son while I was in chains.
11 he was useless to you, but now he has become useful both to you and to me.
12 I am sending him —who is my very heart —back to you.
A very short but touching chapter. The Lord moved my eyes to be aware of certain things which normally the physical eyes would skip. If you read verse nine, it tells us that Paul was an man and was in prison as at the time of this event.
In the next three verses afterwards he made mention of a person called Onesimus; who he won over while in prison and he (Paul) became his spiritual father.
A remarkable statement was made about his man Onesimus, who he was and what he was. Teach Bible stressed it that Onesimus was unprofitable unto his own people, he was useless, unfruitful, a good for nothing fellow but Paul transformed his life while still in prison.
He imparted and impacted his life that Paul said " but now he's profitable, useful) unto youandunto me. He went further to say, that releasing Onesimus to tthem was like releasing his heart.
Paul not only won him over, Paul so built him up that hehecame usedul and exceedingly useful.
Let's read it from the MSG translation
Philemon 1:10
While here in jail, I've fathered a child, so to speak. And here he is, hand-carrying this letter—Onesimus! He was useless to you before; now he's useful to both of us. I'm sending him back to you, but it feels like I'm cutting off my right arm in doing so. I wanted in the worst way to keep him here as your stand-in to help out while I'm in jail for the Message. ......"
Even in prison and bound in chains, Paul won a soul and built him up that he became exceedingly productive and useful that he didn't want to allow him go.
In the prison of life, in those dark moments of dispair, would you still be effective.
When you get bound hands and legs in the prison of life, wous put still win a soul, can you cause a remarkable position impact in the life of someone, would you win souls?
When that dark times comes can you bring our the best in someone else?
In the prison of life, will you still be effective?
When it's like a lock down on you, in life's prison, can you give someones life a meaning?
In prison and in bounds Paul was an agent of metamorphosis, can this also be said about you when the dark days cometh.
Think and ponder on these things and most especially as yourself thisvery sincerely question.... IN THE PRISON OF LIFE, WOULD I STILL BE EFFECTIVE?
God Bless you.
